Lytham Station c1900

Lytham Station c1895.
The Blackpool & Lytham Railway was constructed in 1859-61 with a terminus in alongside the newly constructed Ballam Road. This line was not joined to the Kirkham to Lytham line which had its terminus at Station Road.

After the Kirkham-Lytham and Blackpool-Lytham lines were joined in 1872, the old terminus in Station Road was used as a goods yard. The terminus at Ballam Road was rebuilt as a through Station (pictured).
